Multimedia presentation and visualization in education – innovation possibilities for the course “Introduction to the study of culture”

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá možnostmi využití multimediálních prezentací a vizualizace v rámci kurzu „Úvod do studia kultury“. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny pojmy e-learning, blended learning, vizualizace a vizuální kultura. Práce objasňuje paradigmatický posun odehrávající se v oblasti vzdělávání a popisuje generaci tzv. internetových domorodců. Popsána je také kognitivní teorie multimediálního vzdělávání. V analyticko-projektové části jsou shrnuta doporučení týkající se tvorby multimediálních prezentací. Tato doporučení jsou následně aplikována v produktové části práce, v níž je vytvořen návrh struktury prezentace využívající různé multimediální a interaktivní prvky.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of using multimedia presentations and visualizations within the course "Introduction to the study of culture". In the theoretical part the concepts of e-learning, blended learning, visualization and visual culture are defined. The work explains the paradigm shift taking place in education and describes the generation of so-called Internet natives. The cognitive theory of multimedia learning is also described. In the analytical part recommendations for creating multimedia presentations are summarized. These recommendations are applied in product part, where the structure of presentation is designed and a variety of multimedia and interactive elements is integrated
