Assessment of infant motor performance via Test of Infant Motor Performance

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je hodnocení motorických schopností kojence pomocí Test of Infant Motor Performance. Cílem této práce je především přiblížení vybraných škál pro hodnocení motorického vývoje kojence. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na motorický vývoj jedince již od intrauterinního vývoje, včetně teorií motorického vývoje. Dále jsou v ní popsány vybrané škály pro hodnocení motorického vývoje. Nejpodrobněji je popsáno vyšetření Test of Infant Motor Performance, jež bylo využito v praktické části práce. Praktickou část tvoří kazuistická studie kojence. Jednotlivé kapitoly praktické části zahrnují tři vyšetření kojence v 9, 13 a 15 týdnech korigovaného věku. V těchto kapitolách je popsán progres kojence v jednotlivých položkách testu a následně zvolená terapie do dalšího vyšetření. Předmětem diskuze je porovnání jednotlivých škál pro hodnocení motorického vývoje s využitím poznatků získaných rešerší klinických studií.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the assessment of infant motor performance via Test of Infant Motor Performance. The aim of this thesis is ecpecially to introduce some of the infant motor performance scales. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the motor development of the individual including the prenatal development and theories of motor development. Furthemore, some of the infant motor performance scales are described in the thesis. The Test of Infant Motor Performance, which was used in the theoretical part of the thesis, is described in the most detail. The practical part of the thesis consists of the casuistic study of the infant. Chapters of the practical part includes three assessments of the infant in the corrected age of 9, 13 and 15 weeks. The infant´s progress in some of the test items and the therapy chosen for practicing till the next assessment are described in these chapters. The subject of discussion is a comparison of the motor performance scales with the use of findings acquired by the research of clinical studies.
