Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá tématem smrti a jejím vnímáním ve středověké a moderní společnosti. Jako příkladu ze středověké literatury je zde užito německého díla „Der Ackermann aus Böhmen“ od Jana z Teplé a jako zástupce moderní rakouské literatury je zvolen „Jedermann“ od Huga von Hofmannsthala.
