Tattoo as a Display of Identity

Abstract:

Studentka se ve své bakalářské práci věnuje tématu tetování jako projevu identity. V této práci představuje pojem tetování, následně jeho historii a jednotlivé funkce. V rámci kvalitativního výzkumu se věnuje otázce, zda má tetování pro jeho nositele spíše osobní význam nebo je pouze módním doplňkem. Dále se zaměřuje na problematiku motivace k tetování, jaká je motivace lidí se nechat tetovat a na jakém základě si vybírají dané motivy. Kvalitativní výzkum realizuje formou polostrukturovaného rozhovoru společně s pozorováním. Výzkum je zaměřený na dvě kategorie respondentů: lidé s tetováním a tatéři.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on a tattoo as an expression of identity. In this work the term of the tattoo as well as its history and individual functions are introduced. Qualitative research deals with the question whether the tattoo has rather a personal meaning for its bearer or it is just a fashionable accessory. Furthermore, this work focuses on the issue of what motivates people to get tattoos, and on what grounds they choose motifs. The qualitative research is done in the form of a semi-structuralized interview along with observation. The research targets two groups of respondents: tattooed people and tattooists.
