Russia – Ukraine Conflict: Review of Security Threats to the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o bezpečnostních hrozbách pro Českou republiku plynoucí z právě probíhajícího rusko-ukrajinského konfliktu. V první části práce jsou popsány příčiny, vlastní průběh a doposud známé důsledky konfliktu. V druhé části je provedena analýza aktuálních mezinárodních i národních strategických bezpečnostních dokumentů s hodnocením, zda a do jaké míry relevantně reagují na hrozby plynoucí ze zkoumaného konfliktu. V praktické části práce jsou, s využitím výsledků provedené analýzy, navržena opatření a strategie pro budoucí bezpečnostní politiku ČR. K řešení byla použita metoda: literární rešerše a srovnání, pomocí které byly zformulovány hlavní hrozby plynoucí z rusko-ukrajinského konfliktu s razantním dopadem pro Českou republiku. Hlavní zjištění je intenzita vměšování ze strany Ruské federace do záležitostí cizích států.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis discusses the security threats to the Czech Republic resulting from the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. In the first part of the thesis, the causes, the actual course and the known consequences of the conflict are described. In the second part, an analysis of current international and national strategic security documents is carried out, with an assessment of whether and to what extent they respond relevantly to the threats arising from the investigated conflict. In the practical part of the work, using the results of the analysis, measures and strategies for the future security policy of the Czech Republic are proposed. The following approach was used for the solution: literature review and comparison, which served to formulate the main threats stemming from the Russian-Ukrainian conflict that carry a significant impact on the Czech Republic. The main finding is regarding the intensity of interference by the Russian Federation in the affairs of foreign states.
