Anti-nazi resistance in Vysocina region

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá protinacistickým odbojem na území Vysočiny během druhé světové války v letech 1939-1945. V úvodu podává stručné informace týkající se zvoleného tématu a představuje významné osobnosti zahraničního a domácího odboje, které se podílely na atentátu na Reinharda Heydricha. V následujících kapitolách jsou popsány některé odbojové organizace a skupiny, které se na Vysočině vyskytovaly, osobnosti Vysočiny, které odešly bojovat proti nacismu do zahraničí, a nakonec se do vlasti vrátily jako parašutisté z Velké Británie. Podrobně je popsán podíl rodáků z Vysočiny na přípravě atentátu a jeho následném vykonání. Ve druhé části práce následuje podrobný popis působení parašutistických výsadků z Velké Británie na území Vysočiny. Poslední část se zaměřuje na průběh květnových událostí roku 1945 ve městech Třešť a Velké Meziříčí a následné vykonání pomsty na místním obyvatelstvu.

Abstract:

This thesis takes interest in anti-nazi resistance movement in region Vysocina during the Second Word War in 1939 - 1945. As introduction of this thesis there are specified a concise history of foreign and native resistance movement and introduced the leading people who participated in the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. In the first place, there are described some resistance organizations and groups which occurred in region Vysocina, some personalities of Vysocina who had left their country to fight against Nazism and in the end they came back as the parachutists from Great Britain. There is given a detail account of natives of Vysocina who participated in the preparation and the execution of the assassination. In the second place, there is the detail description of activities of parachutist landing forces from Great Britain which operated in region Vysocina. Finally, last part is concentrated on events in May 1945 in towns Třešť and Velké Meziříčí and execution of local inhabitants as an act of revenge.
