The role of the Church of Norway in history and present

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje Norské církvi, evangelicko-luteránské církvi, která je nejvýznamnějším náboženským společenstvím v Norském království. Práce uvádí jak historický vývoj mapující prvotní upevňování její moci, tak současné postavení církve v interakci s dalšími náboženskými společenstvími a zejména se státem. Zvláště se práce zaměřuje na období posledních patnácti let, kdy Norská církev změnila své postavení z oficiální církve státu na církev lidovou, postavenou na roveň dalším náboženským společenstvím.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the Church of Norway, the Evangelical Lutheran Church, which is the most important religious society in the Kingdom of Norway. The thesis analysis both a historical development beginning with the initial consolidation of its power and the church’s current position in interaction with other religious societies and especially with the state. The thesis, in particular, focuses on the period of the last fifteen years, when the Church of Norway changed its status from the official church of the state to an established church on a par with other religious communities.
