Abstract:

Práce se zaměřuje na individuální rozdíly v citlivosti vůči odmítnutí. Cílem výzkumu bylo zmapovat spojitost mezi strachem z nepřijetí, negativní afektivitou a tendencí k prožívání studu a viny. Studie se zúčastnilo 89 mladých dospělých ve věku 20 až 25 let. Zkoumaná oblast byla sledována z kvalitativní i kvantitativní perspektivy. Kvalitativní část výzkumu zahrnovala odpovědi respondentů na několik tabulí z Tematicko-apercepčního testu. Jednotlivé osobnostní charakteristiky byly zároveň zachyceny pomocí série psychologických dotazníků. Výsledky kvantitativní analýzy podpořily většinu původních předpokladů. Studie ukázala, že lidé se strachem z nepřijetí mají větší sklon k negativní afektivitě a k tendenci k pocitům studu. Výsledky této práce navíc naznačují, že tendence k prožívání studu částečně zprostředkovává vztah mezi strachem z odmítnutí a negativní afektivitou. Ačkoliv první část analýzy u osobnostních charakteristik potvrdila očekávané souvislosti, propojení kvantitativních dat s kvalitativními kategoriemi tyto vztahy nepodpořilo.

Abstract:

The present study is focused on individual differences in responding to interpersonal rejection. The aim was to examine a link between fear of rejection, negative affectivity, shame proneness and guilt proneness. Study combines qualitative and quantitative approach. Eighty-nine young adults in the age from 20 to 25 were asked to make up narratives about five cards from Thematic Apperception Test. Thereafter participants completed several psychological questionnaires that captured studied characteristics from quantitative perspective. Results of quantitative analysis are consistent with previous expectations. Study provides evidence that people who anxiously expect rejection have also higher tendency to experience negative emotions and feelings of shame. In addition, quantitative analysis shows that shame proneness influences the relationship between rejection sensitivity and negative affectivity. Although the first part of the analysis confirms the previous expectations, the combination of quantitative and qualitative data does not support any connection between rejection sensitivity, negative affectivity and proneness to shame and guilt.
