Evaluation of the cryptocurrency market

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou trhu kryptoměn a jeho zhodnocením. Zaměřuje se na současný stav trhu, faktory ovlivňující jeho vývoj a srovnání s tradičními investičními nástroji. Nejprve jsou přiblíženy peníze, jejich historický vývoj, funkce, podstata a propojenost s kryptoměnami. Dále jsou charakterizovány samotné kryptoměny, popsán jejich historický vývoj, přiblíženo investování do kryptoměn a zmíněn stav dohledu a regulací. Praktická část analyzuje trh kryptoměn z hlediska růstu, volatility a vnějších vlivů. Zkoumá největší obchodované kryptoměny a jejich využití, srovnává Bitcoin s akciemi a zlatem z pohledu výnosnosti, volatility, korelace a likvidity. Výsledky analýzy ukázaly, že trh s kryptoměnami vykazuje dlouhodobý růst, ačkoliv je značně volatilní a citlivý na vnější faktory jako jsou regulatorní změny, technologický vývoj a ekonomické události. Bitcoin zůstává dominantní kryptoměnou, je v porovnání se zlatem a S&P 500 likvidnější, s vyšším výnosovým potenciálem a zároveň vysokou volatilitou. Kryptoměnový trh představuje dynamický a rychle se rozvíjející segment s velikým potenciálem. Budoucnost trhu bude záviset na regulacích, technologickém vývoji a ekonomických faktorech. Pro investory je klíčové sledovat vnější faktory a diverzifikovat své portfolio, přičemž kryptoměny by měly sloužit spíše jako doplněk.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the cryptocurrency market and its evaluation. It focuses on the current state of the market, factors influencing its development and comparison with traditional investment instruments. Firstly, the concept of money is introduced, including its historical development, functions, nature and connection to cryptocurrencies. The thesis then characterizes cryptocurrencies themselves, their historical development, investing in cryptocurrencies and the state of supervision and regulation. The practical part analyses the cryptocurrency market in terms of growth, volatility and external influences. It examines the largest traded cryptocurrencies and their uses, and compares Bitcoin to stocks and gold in terms of return, volatility, correlation and liquidity. The results of the analysis showed that the cryptocurrency market has shown long-term growth, although it is highly volatile and sensitive to external factors such as regulatory changes, technological developments and economic events. Bitcoin remains the dominant cryptocurrency and is more liquid compared to gold and the S&P 500, with higher return potential and high volatility. The cryptocurrency market is a dynamic and fast-growing segment with great potential. The future of the market will depend on regulations, technological developments and economic factors. It is crucial for investors to monitor external factors and diversify their portfolio, with cryptocurrencies serving more as a complement.
