The issue of care for patient with Alzheimer´s disease in home for the elderly

Abstract:

Jedním z velmi vážných problémů, který souvisí se stářím je Alzheimerova nemoc. Jedná se o pomalé smrtelné onemocnění mozku, které postihne jednoho z deseti lidí ve věku nad 60 let. Postup od mírného zapomínání až po smrt je poměrně pomalý, a neustálý. V současnosti se jedná o nevyléčitelné, degenerativní onemocnění. Cílem bakalářské práce je přiblížit Alzheimerovu nemoc, možné příčiny vzniku, možnosti léčby a prevence. Jsou zde rozpracovány jednotlivé způsoby ošetřovatelské péče a problematika, která může nastat. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a praktickou. Je zde využita kvalitativní metoda průzkumu, formou případové studie u záměrně vybraného klienta. Podrobné nahlédnutí do zdravotní problematiky je učiněno pomocí kazuistiky. Teoretická část se věnuje charakteristice Alzheimerovy nemoci. Mimo krátkou historii, definici, rozdělení a diagnostiku jsou zde nastíněny možné příčiny vzniku onemocnění, rizikové faktory, péče a ošetřování. Léčba je rozpracována na část farmakologickou a nefarmakologickou ? kognitivní terapii. Empirická část je zaměřena na podrobné rozpracování konkrétního klienta trpícího touto chorobou lehkého stupně, zaznamenává jeho potřeby a soustředí se na řešení problematiky péče. Tato práce se rovněž snaží nastínit problematiku příčin vzniku a možné prevence tohoto onemocnění. Vyzdvihují se zde alternativní možnosti, způsoby léčby, aktivizace a péče k dosažení co nejvyšší kvality života. Jedna z možných příčin rozvoje Alzheimerovy nemoci je zvýšená tělesná i duševní pasivita. Závěr obsahuje shrnutí a zhodnocení všech načerpaných poznatků.

Abstract:

One of very serious problems, which are related to age, is the Alzheimer´s disease. It is the slow terminal brain disease which catches one of ten people over the age of 60. The process from slight forgetfulness to death is relatively slow and permanent. Nowadays it is the untreatable and degenerative disease. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the Alzheimer´s disease, possible causes of the beginning, treatment possibilities and prevention. There are developed various methods of the nursing and an issue which may occur. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. There are used qualitative methods of research, in the form of case study at the intently picked client. Detailed insight into health issue is done by the casuistry. The theoretical part is presented to characteristics of the Alzheimer´s disease. Apart from a short history, a definition, a separation and a diagnosis there are described possible causes of the disease beginning, risk factors, a treatment and a care. The treatment is divided to the pharmacological part and the non-pharmacological part ? the cognitive therapy. The empirical part is focused on detailed description of the concrete client suffers from the disease of the light stage; it registers its needs and focuses on solving issue of the care. This thesis also tries to describe the issue causes of the beginning and possible prevention of the disease. There are highlighted alternative possibilities, ways of treatment, activation and a care to achieve the highest possible qualities of life. One of possible causes of the Alzheimer´s disease development is the increased physical and mental passivity. The conclusion includes a summary and an evaluation of all extracted findings.
