Mythical Creatures in Dante's Inferno
Abstract:
The bachelor's thesis provides a comprehensive overview of the mythical creatures of Dante's "Hell", the first of the three cantics of the "Divine Comedy". The work deals with the transition from the ancient origin of these beings to the medieval understanding of ancient myths, which is largely due to Dante Alighieri, who gave these mythical beings medieval and Christian values.
Abstract:
Bakalářská práce představuje souhrnný přehled mytických bytostí Danteho „Pekla“, první ze tří kantik „Božské komedie“. Práce se zabývá přechodem od antického původu těchto bytostí ke středověkému chápání antických mýtů, na čemž má velkou zásluhu právě Dante Alighieri, který dal těmto bájným bytostem středověké a křesťanské hodnoty.
