Abstract:

Měření výkonnosti je v dnešní době důležitou součástí řízení jakéhokoliv podniku, a tedy i důležitou částí manažerského rozhodování. Management oddělení softwarového (SW) vývoje firmy zkoumané v této práci hledal systém metrik, který by umožnil měřit a následně řídit výkon oddělení. Oblast vývoje SW je ale natolik specifická, že kromě strategie firmy je zapotřebí do systému metrik zakomponovat i specifika použité metody vývoje, v tomto případě frameworku Scrum. Předkládaná práce se snaží sestavit systém metrik, který by vyhovoval požadavkům managementu a prezentuje prototyp dashboardu sestaveného v rámci nástroje Power BI pro měření vybrané podmnožiny metrik. K dosažení cíle jsou využity: poznatky získané strukturovanou rešerší dostupných odborných zdrojů na zvolené téma, metodika Balanced Scorecard (BSC) a principy Business Intelligence. Výstupem práce je v první řadě skóre karta dle BSC pro oddělení SW vývoje zkoumané firmy, která reflektuje jak strategii firmy a oddělení, tak specifika správné implementace Scrumu. Dalším výstupem je prototyp dashboardu v nástroji Power BI zaměřující se na jednu z identifikovaných metrik a demonstrující přínos metrik na skutečných datech. V rámci zkoumané firmy byly výstupy práce vyhodnoceny jako zajímavý přístup k návrhu požadovaného systému metrik a bude na ně navázáno dalšími aktivitami v této oblasti.

Abstract:

Performance measurement is an important part of managing any enterprise, and hence an important part of managerial decision-making. The management of the software (SW) development department of the company observed in the presented thesis would like a system of metrics to measure and subsequently manage the performance of the department. SW development is a very specific area. Besides the company strategy, it is also necessary to take into account the specifics of the used development methods, in this case the Scrum framework. The presented thesis tries to build a system of metrics that meets the requirements of management and presents the prototype dashboard created within the Power BI tool (to measure the selected subset of metrics). In order to achieve this goal, the knowledge gained from the structured review of available sources on the chosen topic, the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) methodology and the Business Intelligence principles are used. The output of the work is primarily a Balanced Scorecard for the company's SW development department, which reflects both company and department strategy, and the specifics of Scrum's correct implementation. Another output is the prototype dashboard in Power BI, focusing on one of the identified metrics and demonstrating the benefits of metrics measured on the real data. Within the observed company, the outputs of the thesis were evaluated as an interesting approach to the design of the required metrics system and will be followed by other activities in this area.
