The resting conditions in animals

Abstract:

Tato práce poskytuje základní informace o klidových stavech živočichů, k nimž patří hibernace, estivace, torpor a diapauza. Jde o stavy, při nichž se výrazně snižují energetické požadavky živočichů, čímž je zajištěna vyšší pravděpodobnost přežití v období chladu nebo naopak extrémního horka a sucha. Úvod je zaměřen na vztah organismu k prostředí a na jeho reakce při změnách okolní teploty. V dalších kapitolách jsou podrobněji rozebrány jednotlivé klidové stavy, jejich obecná charakteristika, fyziologické projevy a druhově specifické zvláštnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis provides information about maitenance of an organism such as hibernation, estivation, torpor and diapauses. Energetic demand is incredibly decreased during these states to ensure a better chance of survival in both types of extreme conditions: cold period and dry, hot period. The introduction is focused on the relationship between an organism and environment and its reaction to outside temperatures. In next chapters are analysed particular quiescent states, its general characterization, physiological demonstration and specific species specialities.
