Euthanasia, death and dying from the perspective of medical staff and the general public

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématikou eutanazie, smrtí a umíráním. Teoretická část pojednává o formách eutanazie a její historii. Teoretická část se zabývá eutanazií ve světě a v České republice. Také je zde popsáno dříve vyslovené přání a poslední kapitola je zaměřena na paliativní medicínu. Cílem praktické části je zjistit, jak vidí eutanazii široká veřejnost a odborníci ve zdravotnictví, kteří pracují v jednotkách intenzivní péče. Za pomocí analýzy získaných dat kategorizovat společnost do autorem vytvořených kategorii (odpůrci, příznivci). Dílčím cílem bude zjistit stav informovanosti respondentů na dané téma. Pro výzkumné šetření této bakalářské práce byl zvolen dotazník, který byl následně vyhodnocen. Dotazník obsahuje sedmnáct otázek, z nichž pouze dvě jsou otevřené a patnáct uzavřených, které jsou rovněž vyhodnoceny. Formou vyhodnocení je graf a následné shrnutí otázky jak pro laickou veřejnost a zvlášť pak pro zdravotnický personál pracují na jednotkách intenzivní péče.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of euthanasia, death, and dying. The theoretical part discusses forms of euthanasia and its history. The theoretical part deals also with euthanasia across the world and in the Czech Republic. The previously stated wish is also described and the last chapter is focused on palliative medicine. The aim of the practical part is to find out how euthanasia is viewed by the general public and health professionals who work in Intensive Care Units. Using the analysis of the expected data of the categorization of the company into the categories identified by the author (opponents, supporters). A partial goal will be to find out the state of awareness of respondents on the topic. For the research investigation of this bachelor's thesis was chosen a questionnaire, which was subsequently evaluated. The questionnaire consists of seventeen questions, of which only two questions are open and of fifteen closed ones, which are also evaluated. The form of evaluation is a graph and a subsequent summary of the question for the general public and especially for medical professionals.
