Psychological stress in the profession of physiotherapist

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice psychické zátěže v profesi fyzioterapeuta se zaměřením na syndrom vyhoření. Cílem práce je zmapovat výskyt syndromu vyhoření mezi vybranými fyzioterapeuty z České republiky a zjistit, zda existuje souvislost mezi mírou vyhoření v jednotlivých dimenzích tohoto syndromu a vybranými faktory. Teoretická část shrnuje poznatky o osobnosti zdravotníka a fyzioterapeuta, psychické zátěži a syndromu vyhoření včetně jeho příznaků, prevence a diagnostiky. Pro průzkumnou část je využita kvantitativní metoda s využitím dotazníkového šetření. Použit je standardizovaný dotazník Maslach Burnout Inventory, který je doplněn o 6 otázek vlastní tvorby týkajících se vybraných faktorů, které se na základě studia relevantní literatury ukázaly jako rizikové pro rozvoj syndromu vyhoření. Průzkumná část dále zahrnuje analýzu získaných dat prostřednictvím statistických testů (Kruskal-Wallisův test, Mann-Whitneyův test, Chí-kvadrát test nezávislosti) a výsledky, kterých bylo dosaženo.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of psychological stress in the profession of physiotherapist with a focus on burnout syndrome. The aim of the thesis is to map the occurence of burnout syndrome among selected physiotherapists from the Czech Republic and to find the relationship between the level of burnout and selected factors. The theoretical part summarizes the knowledge about the personality of health worker and physiotherapist, psychological stress and burnout syndrome including its symptoms, prevention and diagnosis. For the research part, a quantitative method using a questionnaire survey is used. A standardized questionnaire, the Maslach Burnout Inventory, is used, which is followed by 6 questions of own design concerning selected factors that, based on a study of the relevant literature, have been shown to be risk factors for the development of burnout syndrome. The research part also includes the analysis of the collected data obtained through statistical tests (Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney test, Chi-square test of independence) and the obtained results.
