Near-death experience

Abstract:

Studie se zabývá individuální zkušenosti jedinců s prožitkem blízkosti smrti (v orig. near-death experience). Je psána ve snaze obrátit pozornost od debaty týkající se povahy prožitku k jeho experienciální složce. Je motivována snahou porozumět procesu integrace prožitku a jeho vlivu na život jedince. S pěti respondenty byly provedeny polostrukturované rozhovory, které byly následně analyzovány metodou interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy. Analýza dala vznik třem tématům společně sdílených respondety: charakteristiky prožitku, integrace prožitku a postoj k životu. Jedním z nosných podtémat je autenticita prožitku a jeho validizace. Studie může přispět k lepšímu porozumění transformativního potenciálu vnitřní zkušenosti a prohloubit porozumění a empatii vůči vnitřním zkušenostem, které se vymykají naší každodenní zkušenosti. V tomto směru může studie přispět k pochopení dalších transcendentálních a jiných neobvyklých stavů vědomí a jejich prožívání. Poznatky mohou přispět také poskytovatelům zdravotní péče, kteří jsou většinou prvními osobami, na něž se lidé s touto zkušeností obrací a kteří na ni obvykle reagují odmítavě, což může mít za následek potlačování této zkušenosti a následnou psychologickou nepohodu.

Abstract:

Presented study is focused on the individual experience of people who had near-death experience. The aim of the study was explore an individual’s personal perception or account of this experience and gain understanding into integration of the experience and its impact on individual's life as opposed to attempting to produce an objective record of the near-death experience itself. Considering the specialization of the issue, the theoretical part was done using a qualitative research with the help of five participants. The data was acquired using a semi-structured type of interview and then processed using the interpretative phenomenological analysis. Three themes were recognized during analysis: characteristics of the experience, integration of the experience and life's attitude. Presented results can help to better understand the transformational potential of inner experiences and gain insight into experiencing of trascendental experiences.
