Motivating Students to Learn Using Activating Teaching Methods in the Field of Social Work

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o tom, co motivuje žáky k učení a proč je k tomu důležité využívat aktivizační metody. Zaměřuji se na obor sociální činnost kvůli mé vlastní zkušenosti, která vychází z nedostatečného využívání aktivizačních metod v odborných předmětech. V teoretické části definuji důležité pojmy motivace, její druhy nebo faktory, které mají vliv na motivaci žáků ve výuce. Vymezuji rozdělení aktivizačních metod, k čemuž přikládám možné využití v praxi. Praktická část je realizována za pomoci kvalitativního výzkumu, jenž mi pomohl získat informace, které odpovídají na hlavní cíl práce, kterým je, jak učitelé sociální činnosti motivují žáky k učení.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis pursues the aspects of students‘ motivation to actively participate in the learning process and provides reasons for incorporating activating methods into the teacher-guided learning. Specifically, the author aims at the field of social studies which she has the most experience with and feels that the implementation of such methods in the specialized subjects of social studies is sadly lacking. In the theoretical part of the thesis the author lists principal motivation concepts, its types and factors which influence the motivation of students in the classroom learning process. The author provides the activating methods categorization and their practical employment in the classroom teaching process concretely aimed at the lessons taught in specialized subject of the social studies field. The practical part analyses implemented research and its findings on administrating the practises of different teachers to motivate their students for active learning primarily aimed at engaging the students in different kinds of activation methods in the aforementioned field.
