Comparison of employment policies and their effects on the labour markets - the Czech Republic, Denmark, the United Kingdom and the United States of America

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá porovnáním a následným preferenčním uspořádáním politik zaměstnanosti České republiky, Dánska, Velké Británie a Spojených států amerických. V teoretické části práce jsou srovnávány kvalitativní a kvantitativní charakteristiky vybraných států z pohledu aktivní a pasivní politiky zaměstnanosti a flexibility a zabezpečení na trhu práce. V praktické části jsou na základě kvantitativních vyjádření determinantů trhu práce země uspořádány podle efektivity politiky zaměstnanosti. Uspořádání je provedeno pomocí formalizovaných manažerských metod rozhodování. Veškerá kritéria jsou porovnávána v desetileté časové řadě (1998-2007). V závěru práce jsou podle vyhodnoceného pořadí navrženy změny pro politiku zaměstnanosti v České republice.

Abstract:

This diploma paper deals with comparison of employment policies as applied in the Czech Republic, Denmark, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, all of which are then sorted in an order that is based on set of preferences. In the theoretical part, the quantitative and qualitative measures of selected countries are being compared in terms of active and passive employment policy, and flexibility and security of the labour market. The practical part presents quantification of aspects that determine the labour market, which is then used to measure the effectiveness of the policy in each of the selected countries. The order of preference itself is built on methods for managerial decision making. The data used for the comparison cover a ten year period (1998-2007). The final chapter includes suggestions of changes to be implemented to the policy in the Czech Republic.
