Language Functions in Identity Negotiation. Analysis of Fictional Discourse
Abstract:
Abstract:
The proposed dissertation presents a stylistic analysis of the roles of language functions in identity negotiation in three British novels from the perspective of social class. The research aims at determining whether there is a correlation between the negotiation of alter-identity as opposed to identity and the used lexico-syntactic means and discourse functions.
