The effect of hipporehabilitation on supporting functions of the upper limb in children with hemiparesis

Abstract:

Předložená bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou hiporehabilitace a hemiparézy u dětí předškolního věku. A za svůj hlavní cíl si klade zjištění vlivu hiporehabilitace na opěrné funkce horních končetin u dětí s hemiparézou. Práce je rozdělená na část teoretickou a praktickou. První část se věnuje hiporehabilitaci, zabývá se její historií, organizací, výběrem správného koně, hiporehabilitačním týmem a indikacím k léčbě. Následující kapitola popisuje hemiparézu, její etiologií a klinické projevy. Potom také význam opěrných funkcí pro život a kineziologickému vývoji horní končetiny v průběhu prvního roku života. Závěr teoretické části se zabývá formami testování funkcí horní končetiny. Praktická část je zaměřena na měření vlivu hipoterapie na opěrné funkce u dvou dětí s hemiparézou, pomocí testu Quality of Upper Limbs Extremity (QUEST). Měření bylo u dětí provedeno celkem dvakrát. Nejprve před tím, než začaly docházet na hipoterapii. Druhé měření bylo provedeno po skončení dvouměsíčního docházení na lekce hipoterapie s frekvencí jednou týdně. Změřené výsledky byly porovnány, graficky vyjádřeny a následně shrnuty v diskuzi.

Abstract:

The bachelor´s work is applied to problems of hipporehabilitation (or hippotherapy) and hemiparesis at preschool age children. The main aim of the work is the determination of the impact of hipporehabilitation on supporting functions of upper limbs at hemiparesis children. The work is divided into two parts ? the theoretical part and the practical part. The first part is dedicated to history and organization of hipporehabilitation, a choice of an appropriate horse for it, a hipporeabilitaion team and indications for treatment. In other sections of the theoretical part are described etiology and clinical symptoms of hemiparesis, significance of extremities for a human life and a kinesiological evolution of upper limbs during the first year of a human life. The end the first part of the work is applied to kinds of upper limbs proofs. The practical part is focused on measuring the influence of hippotherapy on supporting functions at two children with hemiparesis using the test Quality of Upper Limbs Extremity (QUEST). Measurements at the children were made two times ? before and after a two-month lasting hippotherapy (with frequency of lessons once per week). Obtained results of measurements were compared, graphical expressed and summarized in the discussion.
