Pension system in the Czech republic

Abstract:

Pro svou bakalářskou práci jsem si vybral téma, které popisuje český důchodový systém. Vzhledem k rozsáhlým možnostem, které toto téma poskytuje, jsem se zaměřil na vybrané problémy. V první části to bylo vymezení institucí typu penzijních fondů, které fungovaly v rámci České republiky před důchodovou reformou a institucionálně zastřešovaly kapitálové financování osob v neproduktivním věku. Také bylo zmíněno a popsáno penzijní připojištění a možnosti investování penzijních fondů. V další části jsem se již zaměřil na současnou situaci penzijního systému, byly rozebrány výhody a nevýhody průběžného financování a změny, které se odehrály v soukromém pilíři v rámci důchodové reformy. Ve finální části jsem se zaměřil na analýzu trhu penzijních společností. V rámci této části bylo zmíněno, jaké penzijní společnosti na českém trhu fungují, jaké produkty nabízejí a jaký mají podíl na trhu. Také byl rozebrán podíl na trhu jednotlivých typů fondů transformovaných, účastnických a důchodových. Následně byla provedena podrobná trendová analýza účastníků III. pilíře důchodového systému od roku 1995 po současnost. Na základě této analýzy bylo konstatováno, do jaké míry se dá s III. pilířem důchodového systému počítat do budoucna. Na závěr byla zmíněna budoucnost II. pilíře a možné alternativy převedení prostředků z důchodových fondů za předpokladu jeho zrušení.

Abstract:

For my bachelor thesis I chose a topic that describes Czech pension system. Due to considerable possibilities of this topic I decided to focus on several chosen themes. In the first part I described the pension funds that had operated in the Czech republic before the pension reform took place and which had also institutionally insured that capital financing had existed in the Czech republic. Additional pension insurance was also mentioned along with investing posibilities of the pension funds. In the next part I concentrated on the present situation of Czech pension system. In this part I mentioned pros and cons of the PAY-AS-YOU-GO system and the changes that occured in the private financing of the needs in old age. These changes were caused by the pension reform. In the final part I focused on the analysis of the market of the pension institutions. In this part I described all the pension institutions that operate in the Czech republic, what products they offer their clients and what market share each of them has. Trasnsformation funds, participation funds and retirement funds and their market shares were also mentioned and focused on in this part. Then I decided to make a thorough trend analysis of the participants of the third pillar of Czech pension system from 1995 till now. It was concluded from the evidence given by this analysis how much we can rely on the third pillar in the future. Last of all I mentioned the likely future of the second pillar of Czech pension system and some possible alternatives of transferring the money from the retirement funds.
