Agent-based computational model of money evolution

Abstract:

This study employs an agent-based simulation of Kiyotaki-Wright economy with partially rational agents, unequal distribution of agent types and different levels of costs. Strategies of agents evolve through imitation of the most successful strategies. The results show, that the agents manage to make the same decisions as fully rational agents and play speculative strategy. Setting the costs to zero causes the strategies of some agents to change because of production factors. Thus in addi-tion to fundamental and speculative equilibrium, other equilibria are achieved, where the agents try to maximize the production of the least numerous agent type.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá simulací multiagentového modelu v prostředí Kiyotaki-Wright ekonomiky s částečně racionálními agenty, nestejnoměrnou distribucí typů agentů a různými stupni nákladů. Strategie agentů se vyvíjejí skrze imitaci nejúspěšnějších strategií. Výsledky ukazují, že agenti jsou schopni rozhodovat se jako plně racionální agenti a hrát spekulativní strategii. Nastavení nákladů na nulu způsobí změnu strategií některých agentů kvůli produkčním faktorům. Mimo fundamentální a spekulativní rovnováhy tak vznikly dodatečné rovnováhy, kde se agenti snažili maximalizovat produkci nejméně početného typu.
