Rehabilitation following reverse shoulder arthroplasty: review of literature

Abstract:

In complex fractures in senile age with a high vascular risk and therefore osteonecrotic, the reverse shoulder prosthesis can now be considered a reliable surgical procedure, with good clinical results in the medium and long term. Study work on the different post-operative course for a patient who follows rTSA, compared to the rehabilitation fore seen following a traditional TSA in order to facilitate a more precocious passive and active joint recovery to hinder the occurrence of secondary stiffness. The aim of this thesisis a review of the possible rehabilitation protocols, in order to personalize as much as possible the post operative therapeutic course with particular attention to the pre-operative parametersthat can positively or negatively influence the final functional outcomes, as well as the underlying pathology. A quantitative and qualitative analysis of the studies that emerged in the literature will be carried out.

Abstract:

Nelle fratture complesse in etŕ senile ad alto rischio vascolare e quindi osteonecrotico la protesi inversa della spalla puň essere considerata attualmente una procedura chirurgica affidabile, con buoni risultati clinici a medio e lungo termine. Lavoro di studio sul decorso post-operatorio differente per un paziente che segue rTSA, rispetto alla riabilitazione prevista in seguito ad un TSA tradizionale allo scopo di agevolare un piů precoce recupero articolare passivo e attivo per ostacolare insorgenza di rigiditŕ secondarie. Lo scopo di questo elaborato di tesi č una revisione dei possibili protocolli riabilitativi, al fine di personalizzare il piů possibile il percorso terapeutico post operatorio con particolare attenzione ai parametripre-operatori che possono influenzare, positivamente o negativamente, gli esiti funzionali finali, nonché la patologia sottostante. Verrŕ effettuata un?analisi quantitativa e qualitativa degli studi emersi in letteratura.
