Microbial vertical transmission in humans

Abstract:

Vertikálně přenosné infekce jsou infekce přenesené z matky na plod během těhotenství, porodu nebo krátce po porodu. Vrozené infekce mohou mít mírný až velmi vážný průběh a mohou končit potratem či smrtí dítěte po porodu. Tyto infekce jsou nejčastěji vyvolány viry, bakteriemi a prvoky. Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje popisu zejména těch mikrobiálních infekcí pod americkým označením „TORCH“. Konkrétně se podrobněji zabývá onemocněním syfilis, cytomegalovirovou infekcí, HSV infekcí, planými neštovicemi a pásovým oparem, listeriózou a zarděnkami.

Abstract:

Vertically transmitted infections are infections transmitted from mother to fetus during pregnancy, childbirth or shortly after childbirth. Congenital infections can have a mild to very serious course and can result in miscarriage or death of a child after childbirth. These infections are the most commonly induced by viruses, bacteria and protozoa. This bachelor thesis deals especially with the description the microbial infections under the American designation "TORCH". Specifically, it deals in more detail with the disease of syphilis, cytomegalovirus infection, HSV infection, chickenpox and shingles, listeriosis and rubella.
