Mining industry investment in Asia region: lauching, financing and IPO of coal mine

Abstract:

The essence of the thesis is the investing procedure in Central Asian region - Mongolia. The purpose of this thesis is to guide the investor step-by-step and introduce all the complex issues of mining industry in Mongolia. The theoretical part focuses on the important facts and realities such as political stability, level of corruption or the sheer size of mineral resources in the country. All of them bring certain opportunities as well as risks for the investors. Furthermore, the analysis of the rights and obligations arising from purchasing or obtaining a license, tax issues and tax breaks complete the theoretical part. The practical part is based on an example of opening a mine in western Mongolia. It reveals the entire process of opening the mine, the development and sale of the mined commodities. The conclusion is devoted to project calculations and the profitability of this model project is proved based on the IRR

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá investovaním v regióne centrálnej Ázie – Mongolsku. Jej cieľom je komplexne sprevádzať investora problematikou investovania do ťažobného priemyslu v Mongolsku. V rámci teoretickej časti sa práca zameriava na pre investora dôležité fakty ako je politická stabilita, miera korupcie či samotná veľkosť nerastného bohatstva a s nim spojené možnosti a riziká pre investorov. Práva a povinnosti vyplývajúce z nákupu a rozvoja licencie, problematika daní a daňových úľav pre investora zakončujú teoretickú časť práce. Praktická časť sprevádza investora procesom otvorenia bane, jej rozvoj a predaj ťaženej komodity na základe príkladu otvorenia bane na západe Mongolska. Záver práce je venovaný kalkulácií projektu a na základe IRR dokázaná jeho rentabilita.
