Golden ratio

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Zlatý řez“ je určena všem zájemcům z řad široké veřejnosti. Práce zahrnuje konstrukci zlatého řezu, výpočet zlatého čísla a jeho vlastnosti. Ukazuje souvislost zlatého čísla s Fibonacciho posloupností a příklady výskytu zlatého řezu v rovinné geometrii a v platónských tělesech. Seznamuje s historií zlatého řezu od nejstarších matematických textů až po současnost . Pojednává o výskytu logaritmických spirál a symetrie v přírodě – v mnoha formách žijících živočichů a rostlin (v uspořádání okvětních lístků a semen). Vysvětluje využití zlatého čísla a zlatého řezu v umění - při kompozici malířského díla (umísťování důležitých prvků v obraze, zachycení lidské postavy), zhotovení fotografického záběru a v tvorbě Leonarda da Vinciho. Podrobně popisuje užití zlatého řezu v architektuře - francouzským architektem Le Corbusierem, který se snažil vymyslet univerzální proporční jednotku, která by vycházela z lidské postavy (při použití by nejlépe vyjadřovala vlastní cíl, tedy sloužit díky účelnosti právě člověku – modulor) a vytváření ideální proporce architektury, prostoru, která by byla ve vzájemné harmonii s člověkem. Text je doplněn názornými obrázky.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „The Golden Section “ is intended as material for general public. The thesis includes construction methods of the Golden Section and calculation of the Golden Number and its properties. It shows the connection between the Golden Number and the Fibonacci Sequence and examples of the Golden Section occurrence in a plane geometry and in the Platon´s Solids. It makes aquainted with the history of the Golden Section from the oldest mathematical texts to present. This thesis deals with occurrence the logarithmic spirals and symmetry in nature – in certain proportions of living organisms and in plants (in arrangements of petals and seeds). It explains occurrence of the Golden Number and the Golden Section in art – during the composition of the work of art (situating of important elements in pictures, expressing figures), making some photographic shots and in Leonardo da Vinci´s work. The thesis describes in detail occurrence of the Golden Number in architecture – the French architect Le Corbusier tries making the universal proportion number one which is from the human figure (the best expressing own aim during using, to serve as using to people – modulor) and making the ideal proportion of architecture and space which is harmony with people. The text is completed with illuminating figures and photographs.
