Biopolymers as Carries of Active Substances in Cosmetics

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje obecné charakteristice polymerů se zaměřením na biopolymery, jejich vlastnosti a využití v kosmetických formulacích ve formě přísad a aktivních substancí vhodných pro redukci vrásek a obnovu pleti. Pozornost je soustředěna jak na biopolymery používané jako nosiče aktivních látek, tak i na biopolymery zařazené do skupiny tzv. cosmeceuticals. Jsou zde charakterizovány biologicky aktivní peptidy: acetyl hexapeptid-3 s obchodním názvem Argirelin (syntetická verze botulotoxinu) a Matrixyl? používaný jako anti-aging složka. V práci jsou shrnuty výsledky klinických studií těchto cosmeceuticals a je nastíněno jejich praktické využití v kosmetické praxi.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis deals with the basic characteristics of polymers with a focus on biopoly-mers, their properties and use in cosmetic formulations in the form of additives and active substances, suitable for wrinkle reduction and skin renewal. Attention is focused on both the biopolymers used as carriers of active substance, and the biopolymers classified as so-called cosmetaceuticals. The thesis provides brief characterisation of the following biolog-ically active peptides: acetyl hexapeptide-3 with the trade name Argirelin (synthetic version of botulinum toxin) and Matrixyl? used as an anti-aging component. The work summarizes the results of clinical studies of these cosmeceuticals and outlines their practical application in cosmetic practice.
