The European Union and Japan's economic relations after the year 2012

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vývojem ekonomických vztahů mezi Evropskou Unií a Japonskem po nástupu Šinzó Abeho do funkce premiéra Japonska v roce 2012. Hned po uvedení do funkce začal Abe s realizací sérií reforem, tzv. Abenomiky, které měly pomoci k opětovnému růstu japonské ekonomiky. Autorka nejdříve představí tyto reformy a jejich vliv na samotnou japonskou ekonomiku. Dále se zaměří na vývoj vztahů mezi Japonskem a EU v kontextu těchto reforem. Cílem práce je pak určit, zda a jak ovlivnily tyto reformy ekonomické vztahy mezi EU a Japonskem. Tohoto cíle je dosaženo pomocí využití primárních zdrojů a relevantní sekundární literatury. Výsledky provedené studie poukazují na skutečnost, že japonské ekonomicky reformy ovlivnily do určité míry vzájemné ekonomické vztahy. Největší dopad je spatřován v dokončení jednání o dohodě o volném obchodu.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the development of economic relations between the European Union and Japan after the appointment of Shinzo Abe as Prime Minister of Japan in 2012. Immediately after taking office, Abe began with the implementation of a series of reforms called Abenomics, which should help to re-growth of the Japanese economy. The author first introduces these reforms and their impact on the Japanese economy. Furthermore, focusing on the development of economic relations between Japan and the EU in the context of these reforms. The aim of the paper is to determine whether and how these reforms have affected EU-Japan relations. This goal is achieved through the use of primary resources and relevant secondary literature. The results of the study point to the fact that Japan's economic reforms have, to a certain extent, influenced economic relations. The biggest impact is seen in the conclusion of FTA negotiations.
