Ideological Deadlock in Poetry of Manolis Anagnostakis - Poetry of Defeat?

Abstract:

The object of this thesis is the poetry of Manolis Anagnostakis – the Greek poet and critic of 20th century. The main aim remains the ideological deadlock which can be found in his poems and which led the Anagnostakis to the silence. Further the author of this thesis attempted to clarify the term “poetry of defeat” which is usually connected to the Greek poetry after 2nd World War, therefore also to the poetry of Manolis Anagnostakis, and at the same time to show, if it is possible to classify his production into this category. The single chapters are concerning with the life and work of the author, with patterns which influenced him at the field of poesy, as well as with so called “First generation after the 2nd World War”, while the third one is dealing with the detailed analysis of the author` s work, supplemented by samples of his poems. The last chapter is dedicated to definition of deadlock in this poetry and its meaning for the next author` s silence. The final part of this thesis is composed by the selection of Anagnostakis` s poems, which are translated to Slovak language.

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce se zabývá poezií řeckého básníka a kritika 20. století, Manolise Anagnostakise. Tématem práce je ideologická bezvýchodnost, kterou nacházíme v poezii tohoto autora, a která byla následně příčinou jeho básnického mlčení. Autorka práce se taky snaží objasnit pojem „poezie porážky“, jež je často spojován právě s poválečnou poezií v Řecku a tedy taky s poezií tohoto autora, a ukázat, zda je možné jeho tvorbu zařadit do této kategorie. Jednotlivé kapitoly se zabývají životem a dílem autora, jeho básnickými vzory, tzv. „První poválečnou generací“ a podrobným rozborem autorova díla, který je doprovázen ukázkami jeho básní. Poslední kapitola je věnována pojetí bezvýchodnosti v této poezii a jejím významem pro následné básnikovo mlčení. Součástí práce je také výběr některých autorových básní a jejich překlad do slovenštiny.
