The draw-a-person and drawing of an enchanted family by children with the diagnosis of deprivation syndrome

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zjistit, zda je možné využít kresebné testy, konkrétně Kresbu lidské postavy a Kresbu začarované rodiny, pro diagnostiku psychické deprivace. S ohledem na užití projektivní kresebných metod byl zvolen kvalitativní přístup. Výzkumný vzorek byl tvořen dětmi žijícími v ústavní péči a dětmi žijícími v rodinách. Celkem bylo zkoumáno 80 dětí, z toho polovina dívek a polovina chlapců. Jedinci byli ve věku od 10 do 13 let. Jako znaky psychické deprivace byly stanoveny tato kritéria: a) potlačené či vynechané oči, či tzv. prázdné oči; b) Nezralá kresba s ohledem na věk dítěte; c) Neadekvátní zobrazení rukou; d) Ústa plná zubů či mračící se; e) Znázornění několika úrovní postav či absence osoby; f) Kresba nekorespondující s realitou. Tyto aspekty byly v kresbách vyhledávány a vyhodnoceny pomocí obsahové analýzy dat. Z výsledků vyplývá, že některé z určených kritérií mohou být prediktory psychické deprivace. V práci jsou také uvedené limity těchto předpokladů.

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis is to determine whether it is possible to use drawing tests, specifically the draw-a-person test and the drawing of the enchanted family, to diagnose psychological deprivation. With regard to the use of projective drawing methods qualitative approach was chosen. The research sample was made up of children living in institutional care and children living in families. The research sample consisted of 80 children, half of them were girls and half of them were boys. The age of children was between 10 – 13 years. Following criteria were stated as signs of the psychical deprivation: a) supressed or omitted eyes (empty eyes), b) immature drawing with regard to the age of the child, c) inadequate image of hands, d) mouth full of teeth or frowning, e) image of several levels of a figure or an absence of a person, f) drawing not corresponding with reality. These aspects were looked up and evaluated by using content analysis. Results show that some of aspects might be considered to be predictors of the psychical deprivation. In our work we also discuss limits of these assumptions.
