Professional organisations of non-medical healthcare workers in Czech Republic

Abstract:

Profesní organizace nelékařských zdravotnických pracovníků jsou pro zdravotníky nedílnou součástí vykonávání jejich profese. I přesto, že ne všichni nelékařští zdravotníci, vykonáva- jící toto povolání, jsou členy těchto organizací, přijdou s těmito organizacemi do styku při mnoha příležitostech, a to přímo i nepřímo. To je důvodem, proč je velmi důležitou součástí studentů, připravujících se na budoucí povolání zdravotníků, povědomí právě o těchto orga- nizacích, o jejich činnosti a cílech, ale také o historii těchto organizací a o historii ošetřova- telství jako takovém. Tato bakalářská práce zaměřuje především na budoucí praktické a všeobecné sestry a jejich povědomí o profesních organizacích nelékařských zdravotnických pracovníků, především o České asociaci sester. Součástí je teoretická část zaměřující se na historii a počátky ošetřo- vatelství u nás, vývoj ošetřovatelské profese, profesní organizace u nás a ve světě a v nepo- slední řadě na Etický kodex sester. Praktická část je provedena pomocí kvantitativního vý- zkumu formou dotazníkového šetření, za účelem zmapování míry znalostí o profesních or- ganizacích nelékařských zdravotnických pracovníků, u studentů zdravotnických škol, a zjiš- tění nejvhodnějšího způsobu získávání těchto informací.

Abstract:

Lawful organizations for non-medical health professionals are an integral part of their practice. Although many non-medical health professionals are not members of these organizations, they come into contact with them on many occasions, both directly and indi- rectly. This is the main reason why it is essential for students pursuing profession in nursing, to be aware of these organizations, their activities and goals, their history and the history of nursing as such. This bachelor thesis focuses mainly on the future practical and general nurses and their knowledge of established organizations for the non-medical health professionals, especially the Czech Association of Nurses. It includes a theoretical part focusing on the history and the beginnings of nursing in our country, the development of the nursing as a profession, the professional organizations in our country and in the world, and last but not least, the Code of Ethics for Nurses. The practical part is performed using quantitative research in the form of a questionnaire survey in order to map the level of knowledge about professional organi- zations of non-medical health professionals, medical students, and to determine the most appropriate way to obtain this information.
