Members of the pumpkin family belong among the fruit vegetables. Pumpkins have been attributed many positive health effects, especially antidiabetic, anticancer and anti-inflammatory. Zástupcovia z čeľade tekvicovité patria medzi plodovú zeleninu. V súvislosti tekvicami sa udáva mnoho pozitívnych účinkov na zdravie, najmä antidiabetické, protirakovinové a protizápalové. V práci sú podrobne rozpísaní zástupcovia čeľade a ich možne účinky na zdravie ľudí.
