Antibacterial properties of packaging materials for food industry

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřená na antibakteriální vlastnosti obalových materiálů v potravi-nářství. Pro vícestupňovou fyzikálně-chemickou povrchovou úpravu byl jako základní sub-strát zvolen polyethylen. Povrchová úprava spočívala nejprve v důkladném očištění vzorků, následném ošetření nízkoteplotním plazmatem a inkorporací makromolekulárního řetězce s profilem polymerního hřebene s koncovými aminovými skupinami. Takto připravené vzorky byly podrobeny antibakteriálním testům a jednotlivé vzorky byly charakterizovány dostupnými metodami (infračervená spektroskopie, skenovací elektronová mikroskopie, měření povrchové energie a kontaktních úhlů smáčení, rentgenová fotoelektronová spektroskopie).

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on antibacterial properties of packaging materials for food industry. The polyethylene was chosen as a base substrate for the multistep physicochemical surface modification. The surface modification consists prior sample cleaning, subsequent low-temperature plasma treatment, and the incorporation of macromolecular chain with the polymer brush-like structure with end amino groups. Then the samples undergo the anti-bacterial testing and each sample is characterized by accessible methods: infrared spectros-copy, scanning electron microscope, surface energy measuring and contact angle wetting, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.
