"This Is America": Racism and Violence In Modern Music Videos
Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá rozborem několika vybraných hudebních videoklipů afro-amerických umělců. S ohledem na výsledky analýzy těchto videoklipů se pak snaží dokázat zda se tyto videoklipy dají považovat za prostředek k šíření informací ohledně problematiky rasismu a nasilí ve spojených státech a jaký dopad mohou zanechat na divácích.
Abstract:
This thesis focuses on the analysis of four music videos by African-American artists and how do these videos reflect the current situation in the United States. The goal of the study is to prove that artists are able to spread awareness of racial issues through symbolism in the said videos. Eventually, what effects these videos have on the viewer.
