Virtual laboratory as a support tool for teaching informatics subjects

Abstract:

Dizertačná práca je zameraná na využitie virtuálnych laboratórií vo vyučovaní informatiky, konkrétne predmetu Optokomunikačné systémy v stredoškolskej informatike a v učiteľskom vzdelávaní budúcich učiteľov informatiky. V tejto práci sa snažíme priblížiť využitie virtuálnych laboratórií a počítačových simulácií vo vyučovaní. Venujeme sa problematike merania výsledkov úspešnosti študentov, skúmaniu porozumenia. Vytvárame súbor problémových úloh, na ktorých chceme preukázať lepšie pochopenie učiva s použitím virtuálnych laboratórií, skúmame vedomosti a schopnosti študentov a tiež testujeme prírastky vedomostí. Táto práca bude nápomocná pri skúmaní využitia virtuálnych laboratórií vo vyučovaní, zisťovaní pochopenia učiva študentami a ich schopnosť riešiť problémové úlohy v porovnaní so študentami v skupine kde sa využívajú reálne laboratóriá. Zamýšľame sa nad perspektívou virtualizácie prostredí všeobecne v prírodovednom vzdelávaní, ktoré komponenty vo vzdelávaní je možné virtualizovať, výhody a nevýhody tohto prístupu.

Abstract:

The dissertation is focused on the use of virtual laboratories in informatics education, namely the subject of Optocommunication Systems in Secondary Informatics and the Teaching of future informatics teachers. In this work we try to approach the use of virtual laboratories and computer simulations in teaching. We deal with the issue of measuring student achievement results, exploring understanding. We create a set of problem tasks where we want to demonstrate a better understanding of the subject with the use of virtual laboratories, explore the knowledge and abilities of the students, and also test the growth of knowledge. This work will be helpful in examining the use of virtual laboratories in teaching, understanding students' understanding of the subject, and their ability to solve problem problems compared to students in a group where real laboratories are used. We are thinking about the prospect of virtualization of the environment in natural education.
