Death themes in Slovene literature for children

Anotácia:

Bakalářská práce zpracovává témata smrti v literatuře pro děti a mládež. Teoretická část stručněopisuje historii slovinské literatury pro děti a mládež a její rozvoj po druhé světové válce. Pozornost je věnována hlavně tabu tématům, především potom tématu smrti. Důraz je kladen na fakt, žeknihy s tématem smrti jsou důležité při komunikaci o smrti a při tzv. death education. Byla provedena analýza knih s tématem smrti, které byly vydány ve Slovinsku po r. 1990, z toho 4 knihy jsou analyzované podrobně. Analýza ukazuje snahu autorů pomoci dětem a rodičům při komunikaci o smrti i jejich snahu pomoci dětem s vyrovnáváním se s pocity, které smrt blízké osoby doprovází.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the death themes in literature for children. On the basis of scientific literature the history of Slovene literature for children and the views on the development of children’s literature after the Second World War is described. Within the youth literature, the attention is brought to the taboo themes, especially to the topic of death. The fact that books with death themes are essential while talking about death with children and in the context of death education is emphasized. Then an analysis of books published in Slovenia after 1990 is made and four of them are analyzed in details. The analysis shows an effort of the authors to help the children and their parents with communication about death and to help the children to cope with the feelings that appears when a loved person dies.
