Richard Rolle's mystic

Abstract:

Tato práce je o středověkém mystikovi Richardu Rollem, který žil ve čtrnáctém století. Je zván "otcem anglické mystiky". Napsal mystické dílo Oheň lásky, které inspirovalo další autory anglické duchovní literatury. Cílem této práce je popsat Rolleho mystiku a její znaky. S Rolleho mystikou je spojená láska, která pro něj představuje cestu k Bohu. Rolle popisuje mystickou cestu skrze fáze očišťování, osvícení a sjednocení. K interpretaci Rolleho mystiky využívám zejména práci anglické teoložky Evelyn Underhill, které mi umožňuje proniknout do Rolleho mystiky.

Abstract:

This work is devoted to medieval mystic Richard Rolle, who lived in the fourteenth century. He is considered to be "the father of English mysticism". He wrote mystical work Fire of Love that inspired other authors of English spiritual literature. The aim of the present paper is to describe Rolle's mysticism and its signs. Rolle's mysticism is linked to love, which represents for him the way to God. Rolle describes mystical path through the phases of purification, illumination and unification. In order to interpret Rolle's mysticism I mainly used the work of English theologian Evelyn Underhill, which enabled me to penetrate into Rolle's mysticism.
