Current status of little queens in Moravia

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce se snaží podat obraz o současném stavu svatodušního obyčeje královniček na Moravě. V předkládaném textu je mapován historický vývoj královniček v posledních dvou stoletích, kdy došlo ve značné části lokalit k zániku obyčeje. Hlavní část práce leží v současnosti, přičemž je zde na konkrétních případech ukázáno, jaké pohnutky vedou osobnosti k revitalizaci královniček, potažmo k jejich stálému udržování. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována funkcím, které směrem k aktérkám či samotným venkovským komunitám královničky naplňují.

Abstract:

This thesis tries to present a picture of the current state of the Whitsun custom of the little queens in Moravia. The text is about the historical development of the little queens in the least two centuries, when the custom disappeared in a significant part of the localities. The main part of the thesis is about the present, while it is shown here on specific cases what motivations lead personalities to the revitalization of little queens or to their permanent maintenance. Special attention is paid to the functions little queens fulfils towards female actors or the rural communities themselves
