Abstract:

Bakalárska práca mapuje umeleckú činnosť Jaroslava Kučeru vzhľadom k využitiu výtvarných inšpirácií v avantgardnom umení spočiatku 20. storočia. Úvodná časť zahŕňa politický kontext, ktorý mal dôležitý dopad na umelecké dianie povojnového obdobia vrátane filmovej tvorby. Jaroslav Kučera sa chcel vymaniť z prevládajúceho socialistického realizmu novátorskými postupmi, ktoré realizoval spolu s významnými predstaviteľmi českej Novej vlny. Jeho výtvarné vnímanie bolo o to silnejšie, pretože sám pôvodne túžil byť maliarom. Túžba experimentovať ho viedla od dokumentárneho obrazu, cez naturalistické zobrazenie až po snové vyjadrovanie. Práca rozoberá príklady jeho najvýznamnejších filmových diel z obdobia rokov 1958 až 1969 a stavia ich do analógie s významnými predstaviteľmi svetového výtvarníctva za účelom zdôraznenia významu znalosti umenia pre kameramana.

Abstract:

The Bachelor thesis maps the Jaroslav Kučera's artistic activities with regard to the use of creative inspiration in avant-garde art at the beginning of the 20th century. The introductory part includes a political context that had an important impact on the Post-war art, including the impact on filmmaking. Jaroslav Kučera wanted to extricate from the dominant socialist realism by implementing innovative methods, together with prominent Czech New Wave representatives. His perception of art was much stronger because he had originally dreamed to be a painter. The desire for experiments led him from a documentary image through a naturalistic depiction to a dreamlike expression. The paper discusses examples of his most significant films from the period between 1958 and 1969, while putting them in analogy with prominent world art representatives, in order to empasize the importance of art proficiency for a Director of Photography.
