Sublimations of the blueprint (various art media)

Abstract:

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to create a cycle of six paintings inspired by the blueprint which has been the part of the folk culture changing little by little over the years, copying the era we live in. The first chapter of the written part is focusing on the history of the blueprint, the technology of its making and description of the chosen blueprint workshops. Then the thesis defines the folk culture in general, its customs as well as blueprint, concretely its gradual changes over the time. It discusses the present artists who are getting their inspiration from the folk art and the work of two young Slovak blueprinters thanks to whom this craft has not perished yet. The second chapter is dedicated to practical part of the thesis, my inspirations, influences and fantasies. The process of its making and realization where I am executing the visual side of the blueprint artistically into my personal painter's expression in which I am using printing combined with painting symbolically is also described gradually in this chapter.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto bakalárskej práce je vytvoriť cyklus šiestich malieb inšpirovaných modrotlačou, ktorá je súčasťou postupom času sa meniacej ľudovej kultúry, kopírujúcej dobu, v ktorej žijeme. V písomnej časti je v prvej kapitole priblížená história modrotlače, technológia jej výroby a sú v nej opísané vybrané modrotlačiarske dielne. Ďalej práca definuje všeobecne ľudovú kultúru, tradície, ako aj konkrétne modrotlač a ich postupné zmeny v priebehu času. Opisuje súčasných umelcov inšpirujúcich sa ľudovým umením a prácu dvoch mladých slovenských modrotlačiarov, vďaka ktorým toto remeslo ešte nezaniklo. Druhá kapitola je venovaná praktickej časti práce, mojim inšpiráciám, vplyvom a predstavám. Postupne popísaný je aj proces tvorby a realizácie práce, kde výtvarne spracovávam vizuálnu stránku modrotlače do svojej osobnej maliarskej výpovede, v ktorej symbolicky používam otláčanie spojené s maľbou.
