Abstract:
The main aim of this paper is to analyse love triangles in two Irish plays - Lady Augusta Gregory's Grania and J. M. Synge's In the Shadow of the Glen. First of all, the theoretical part provides readers with historical and cultural background of the late 19th and early 20th century in Ireland. Hlavním tématem této práce je analyzovat milostné trojúhelníky v irských hrách - Grania od Lady Augusty Gregory a Ve stínu doliny od Johna Millingtona Synge. V úvodní části poskytne teoretická část historické a kulturní pozadí na přelomu 19. a 20. století v Irsku a poté bude pozornost věnována Irskému národnímu obrození a vzniku divadla Abbey Theatre.
