Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá Richardem Burbagem,hlavním hercem Služebníků lorda komořího, později Králových služebníků. Cílem této práce je poskytnout úplný přehled nejdůležitějších faktů a informací týkajících se osobního a profesního života tohoto herce a jeho hereckých schopností. Implicitně pak tato práce poukazuje na skutečnost, že bez znalosti stylů hraní herců, nemůže člověk nikdy plně pochopit, jak byly alžbětinské a jakobínské hry ve své době vnímány.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with Richard Burbage, the leading player of the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, later the King’s Men. The aim of this thesis is to provide a complete summary of the most important facts and information concerning the personal and professional lives of the player, and his acting qualities. This thesis implicitly points out that without the knowledge of the acting styles of players, one will never be able to fully understand the Elizabethan and Jacobean apprehension of the plays.
