The Management of the Education of non-medical health Professionals in the Field of the Parenteral Nutrition in the Acute and Intensive Care Unit

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit nastavení managementu edukace nelékařských zdravotnických pracovníků v problematice parenterální výživy na jednotkách intenzivní a akutní péče. Výzkumným cílem bylo zhodnotit znalosti nelékařských zdravotnických pracovníků v problematice parenterální výživy, zmapování dostupnosti i spokojenosti se zaškolováním v dané problematice, a prozkoumat zda se nacházejí rozdíly v monitoringu výživy na různých typech oddělení. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořili nelékařští zdravotničtí pracovníci pracující na jednotkách intenzivní a akutní péče. Získání dat proběhlo prostřednictvím nestandardizovaného dotazníku vlastní konstrukce, kdy samotnému výzkumu předcházel pilotní výzkum. Dotazníky byly distribuovány do dvou zdravotnických zařízení, a to fakultního a krajského typu v Moravskoslezském kraji. Do těchto zvolených zařízení byly předány dotazníky v celkovém počtu 160 ks na oddělení ARO/KARIM, NIP, DIOP a oborové JIP. Výzkumné šetření bylo zahájeno v lednu 2022 a ukončeno v únoru 2022. Následně byla data statisticky zpracována. Výsledky: Výsledky výzkumu poukazují na lepší úroveň znalostí v problematice parenterální výživy pro respondenty z fakultního zdravotnického zařízení a pro oddělení ARO/KARIM, které má v této problematice lepší znalosti oproti zbylým oddělením. Z výzkumu je patrné, že úroveň znalostí je závislá na formě získání teoretických znalostí v rámci pregraduálního vzdělání. Znalosti respondentů nabyté na SZŠ jsou zdaleka nejnižší. Dále byla zjištěna skutečnost, že na oddělení ARO/KARIM je významně mnoho respondentů spokojených se vzděláváním v dané problematice a významně mnoho respondentů z DIOP, kteří možnosti vzdělávání ve svém zařízení nemají. Závěr: V intenzivní péči má parenterální výživa nezastupitelný vliv na proces léčby a celkový zdravotní stav pacienta. Primárním předpokladem ke kvalitnímu poskytování specializované ošetřovatelské péče jsou znalosti. K nabytí adekvátní úrovně znalostí, a to jak teoretické i praktické, je zapotřebí kvalitní zaškolování pracovníků a permanentní vzdělávání.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of the Diploma Thesis was to find out the management settings of non-medical health professionals in the field of Parenteral Nutrition in the intensive care and acute care units. The research goal was to evaluate the knowledge of non-medical health professionals in the field of Parenteral Nutrition, to map the availability and satisfaction with training in this area, and to examine whether there are differences in nutrition monitoring in different types of wards. Methods: The surveyed group consisted of non-medical health professionals of intensive and acute care. Data gathering took place through a non-standardized questionnaire of our own design, where the survey itself was preceded by a pilot research. The questionnaires were distributed to two medical organisations, such as faculty and regional type in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The questionnaires in the total number of 160 pieces were distributed over to these selected facilities, specifically: ARO / KARIM, NIP, DIOP and branch ICU departments. The research survey began in January 2022 and ended in February 2022. Subsequently, the data were statistically processed. Results: the results of the research pointed towards a better level of knowledge in the field of parenteral nutrition in the respondents from the faculty medical facility and from the ARO / KARIM departments that have better knowledge in this area compared to the other departments. It is clear from the research that the level of knowledge depends on the form of acquiring theoretical knowledge in the undergraduate education. Respondents' knowledge acquired the Medical College is by far the lowest. Furthermore, it was found that the ARO / KARIM departments have a significant number of respondents satisfied with the quality of the education in the given area of expertise and a significant number of respondents from DIOP that do not have the option of professional development in their facility. Conclusion: in the intensive care, parenteral nutrition has an irreplaceable impact on the treatment process and the overall state of health of the patient. Qualification is the primary prerequisite for providing quality of specialised medical care. To acquire an adequate level of knowledge, both theoretical and practical, it is necessary to provide quality staff training and Continuous professional development.
