Abstract:
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the question of women´s position in the seventeenth and the nineteenth century America. The aim is to point out the differences between the white and black female position and to show what attitudes the individual representatives adopted. These differences are analyzed on the ground of two novels, The Scarlet Letter and Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl.Abstract:
Předmětem této bakalářské práce je otázka postavení žen v 17. a 19. století v Americe. Cílem je objasnit nakolik rozdílné byly pozice žen bílé a černé rasy a ukázat jaký postoj si osvojily jednotlivé zástupkyně obou ras. Tyto rozdíly jsou analyzovány na podkladě dvou románů, Šarlatové písmeno a Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl.
