The reconstrution of handwriting used in manuscript of Boccaccio’s Decameron from the beginning of the 15th century

Anotácia:

Tématem práce je elektronická rekonstrukce historického písma, pocházejícího z francouzského manuskriptu z počátku 15. století. Manuskript je překladem knihy Decameron, kterou napsal významný renesanční italský humanista Giovanni Boccaccio. Teoretická část práce se věnuje vývoji knižních latinských písem do vynálezu knihtisku, popisu literárního díla a historického období humanismu. Praktická část dokumentuje průběh reknostrukce písma metodou vyučovanou v Ateliéru grafického designu a multimédií na Fakultě informatiky.

Abstract:

The theme of this work is electronic reconstruction of the historic handwriting used in French manuscript from the beginning of the 15th century. The manuscript is the translation of the book Decameron, which is written by important Italian humanist Giovanni Boccaccio. The theoretical part of this work is dedicated to the history of the latin book face until the invention of the book printing, the description of the literary work and the humanism historical period. The practical part of the thesis decribes method of handwriting reconstruction taught in the Atelier of the Graphic Design and Multimedia at the Faculty of Informatics.
