This diploma thesis deals with the translation of Kleist's drama The Broken Jug. The theoretical part and basis for the subsequent translation analysis primarily explains basic concepts in the field of translation theory and language equivalence. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá překladem Kleistova díla Rozbitý džbán. Teoretickým východiskem pro následnou analýzu překladů je především vysvětlení základních pojmů z oblasti teorie překladu a jazykové ekvivalence.
