Abstract:
The thesis focuses on the phenomenon of devoicing by Czech speakers of English. The main objective is to decide whether it is plosives or fricatives that are influenced by the phenomenon more. The second objective is to determine to what extent does devoicing affect the intelligibility of a native Czech speaker. The theoretical part introduces aspects of phonetics connected to the topic. Tato práce je zaměřena na fenomén ztráty znělosti u rodilých mluvčích češtiny v angličtině. Hlavním cílem bylo rozhodnout, zda tento fenomén více ovlivňuje frikativy nebo plosivy. Druhým cílem bylo zjistit, do jaké míry ztráta znělosti ovlivňuje srozumitelnost rodilých mluvčích češtiny. Teoretická část seznamuje čtenáře s prvky spojenými s tématem.
