Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to analyse the final three volumes of the Harry Potter series to determine whether and to what extent these books can be considered to belong to the genre of dystopian literature. This goal is achieved with the help of Sigmund Neumann's Permanent Revolution, which deals with totalitarian regimes, a type of political system very common in dystopias.
