Educational patronage in Bohemia in post-White Mountain period

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá roli studijních nadací v období pobělohorské rekatolizace v Čechách. Zaměřuje se na jejich vznik, strukturu a přínos pro katolickou církev a společnost. Cílem práce je analyzovat, jak studijní nadace přispěly k obnově katolické víry a rozvoji vzdělávání po třicetileté válce. V rámci práce jsou prezentovány historické souvislosti a politické změny, které vedly ke vzniku a rozvoji studijních nadací v pobělohorském období. Práce dále zkoumá strukturu těchto nadací, způsoby jejich financování a organizaci. Na základě analýzy historických pramenů a relevantní literatury je posuzován vliv studijních nadací na vzdělávání, vliv církve a šlechty na studijní nadace, a také jejich role ve společenském a kulturním kontextu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis explores the role of educational foundations during the period of re-Catholization in the Czech lands. It focuses on their emergence, structure, and contributions to the Catholic Church and society. The aim of the thesis is to analyze how educational foundations contributed to the restoration of the Catholic faith and the development of education after the Thirty Years' War. Within the thesis, historical contexts and political changes leading to the emergence and development of educational foundations in the post-White Mountain period are presented. The thesis further examines the structure of these foundations, their methods of financing, and organization. Based on the analysis of historical sources and relevant literature, the influence of educational foundations on education, the influence of the church and nobility on educational founda, as well as their role in the social and cultural context, is assessed.
