Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá novou strategií společnosti Boeing při výzkumu a výrobě letadla Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Hlavním cílem této práce je zhodnotit dopady rozhodnutí zavedení této nové strategie na samotnou společnost Boeing. Dalším cílem této práce je potvrdit nebo vyvrátit hypotézy, zda nová strategie pomohla snížit náklady na vývoj a urychlit uvedení nového letadla na trh a zda nový model letadla, zvaný Dreamliner, pomohl společnosti Boeing získat více objednávek než konkurenční společnost Airbus v segmentu širokotrupých dálkových letadel. Praktická část konkrétně popisuje strategii společnosti Boeing při vývoji nového letadla Boeing 787 Dreamliner. V této části je uvedeno, proč se společnost Boeing pro tuto novou strategii rozhodla a jaké byly konečné dopady a důsledky této strategie na samotnou společnost Boeing.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with a new strategy of Boeing company, that was used for development and production of its new aircraft called Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate what are the consequences of this new strategy for Boeing company. Secondly, this thesis aim is to confirm or deny the hypothesis, whether new strategy helped Boeing company reduce costs of development and accelerate the introduction of this new aircraft to the market and whether it helped Boeing company secure more orders for widebody long haul aircrafts than its main competitor Airbus company. The practical part contains a thorough description of the new strategy used for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner programme. In this part there is a chapter that focuses primarily on the motives why Boeing company decided to use this new strategy and what were the impacts of this new strategy for Boeing company.
